   Organization of Patients' and Patients' Relatives' Rights

2001 Patients' Rights Service Awards

Why is it given? Who was the Jury? 

HAYAD has officially declared the 26th of October of each year as the "Patients' Rights Day". 2001 is the 3rd consecutive year for the presentation of this award. HAYAD members are honored to show their appreciation and gratefulness to those who have put their efforts, services and support throughout the year by presenting them with this award.

Who received it this year?

After the evaluation of the jury that was selected this year the following received the award:

  • A patient or a relative award is given to those who have been involved in the planning and organization of the "Istanbul University Patient School" activity. This activity was organized with the cooperation of voluntary organizations and patient relatives in the aim of providing information related with various disease groups.

  • A health personnel or institution award is given to Prof. Türkan Saylan. Over the years she has been purely scientific and never compromised in her humanitarian approach in all of her efforts towards patients with leprosy.

  • A press/media employee or institution award is given to Ms. Sibel Güneş, journalist specialized in health, on behalf of the team that prepared and aired the news programs, "Sağlık Dosyası" and "Üç Temel İhtiyaç-Sağlık", on NTV news channel. A thank-you award has been given to everyone.

  • A representative or institution award could not be given for the Jury has not been able to evaluate an appropriate person or institution for this award.

Who received the award in the previous years?

Dr. Mustafa Güven, Minister of Health, for publishing the "Patients' Rights' Bill", 1999

Dt. Arın Namal, for her efforts and publications about Patients' Rights, 2000

Mr. Levent Resul, for his leadership for the fight against cancer by informing the society through the use of internet during his daughter, Miss Deniz Resul's battle against cancer, 2000
